Cyber Crime Walk

On Thursday 2nd October 2025 at 1030 hours, PC Darren Laker and PCSO Richards, accompanied by colleagues from the Cyber Crime Unit, conducted a proactive engagement initiative with local businesses in Ashford. The purpose of the visit was to raise awareness around cyber crime and provide practical advice on how businesses and individuals can better protect themselves online.

The engagement was well received by both business owners and members of the public, who welcomed the visible police presence and the opportunity to discuss online safety measures directly with officers.

As a result of the visit, numerous individuals signed up to the official Cyber Crime website to access further resources and support.

This initiative was particularly timely given recent high-profile data breaches affecting well-known companies, as reported in the media. The visit aimed to highlight the importance of cyber resilience and to promote additional safety measures and tools available to mitigate online threats.
